Linked accounts

Linked accounts

Open Linked Accounts from the app sidebar to connect your personal identities on chat channels. Linking tells TeamMate that an external account — your Telegram, Slack, Microsoft Teams, or WhatsApp identity — belongs to you, so messages from that account route to your TeamMate user instead of an anonymous channel user.

Links are scoped to your account in the workspace you currently have selected. The same external account can be linked to different users in different workspaces.

Open Linked Accounts

  1. Open the app sidebar

In the TeamMate app, use the left sidebar footer.

  2. Click Linked Accounts

    Open the Linked Accounts panel.

  3. Connect a channel

Choose the channel you want to link and follow its connection flow.

ChannelHow it is verifiedWhat it does
TelegramTelegram Login WidgetProves you own the Telegram account so Telegram messages route to your user.
Microsoft TeamsMicrosoft (Entra ID) identityLinks your AAD identity so Teams direct messages resolve to your account.
SlackSlack sign-in (OAuth)Links your Slack identity so Slack direct messages route to your account.
WhatsAppPhone one-time code (OTP)Verifies a phone number via a code sent over WhatsApp, then links it to your user.

Some channels need a server-side configuration before they can be linked. If a channel reports that linking is not configured, ask your workspace admin to enable it.

How linking works

  • Telegram opens the official Telegram Login Widget. Signing in proves you own the account; no extra setup is required from you.
  • Slack opens a Slack sign-in popup. After you authorize, TeamMate stores your Slack user and team identity.
  • Microsoft Teams links your Microsoft (Entra ID) identity so the Teams bot can resolve your direct messages back to your TeamMate user.
  • WhatsApp sends a 6-digit code to the phone number you enter. Enter the code to confirm ownership and complete the link.

Disconnect a linked account

Disconnecting removes the link so messages from that external account no longer resolve to your user. Choose Disconnect on the linked channel and confirm. You can re-link the same account later.
