Getting started

Welcome. This section is the fastest path from a fresh sign-up to a workspace that’s actually useful to you and your team.

You don’t need to know what an AI agent is, what a model is, or anything about how the system works under the hood. Each tutorial is written for someone who has never opened the app before. We tell you exactly what to click, what to type, and what you should see on screen.

What you’ll do

Four short tutorials, in order. Each one takes about 5 minutes.

  1. Create your account & workspace — open the website, sign up, and land in your new workspace.
  2. Your first conversation — send a message and get a useful reply from a built-in specialist.
  3. Invite your team — bring colleagues into the same workspace so they can use the same agents you do.
  4. Your first scheduled task — set up a recurring task that runs without you having to be there.

The tutorials build on each other. The workspace you create in step 1 is the same workspace your team joins in step 3.

What you’ll need

  • A laptop or desktop with an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.
  • Your work email address.
  • About 20 minutes for the full set.

You don’t need a credit card. You don’t need to install anything.

A quick glossary

A few words you’ll see a lot. None of these are technical — they’re just the labels we use throughout the product.

  • Workspace — your company’s private space inside TeamMate. It holds everything: chats, agents, files, and people.
  • Agent — a named AI helper trained for one job. Think “Hashim, the sales co-ordinator” rather than “AI”.
  • Specialist — another word for an agent that ships with the product, ready to use. You’ll pick one in tutorial 2.
  • Chat — the screen where you type messages and get replies.
  • Member — someone in your workspace. You’re the first member; you invite the rest in tutorial 3.

If you forget a word later, there’s a full glossary you can come back to.

When you’re done

You’ll have:

  • A live TeamMate workspace with your team in it.
  • At least one saved conversation you can come back to.
  • A scheduled task running quietly in the background.

From there, the rest of the docs are organised by what you want to do — read the Guides for real business scenarios, or jump straight to the feature you need (Chat, Agents, Knowledge bases, Workflows).
