Files, attachments & workspace
Chat supports two file paths: normal uploaded attachments and workspace files. Some agents also support browser workspace folders, which let the composer mention local files with @.
What you can do here
- Click the paperclip to upload one or more files.
- Remove an attachment before sending.
- Open the workspace file browser when the agent has server-side workspace enabled.
- Attach or reconnect a browser folder when an agent uses browser workspace mode.
- Mention local files with
@after the browser folder is connected.
Attachment behavior
| Control | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Paperclip | Opens the operating-system file picker and uploads selected files to the chat. |
| Attachment preview | Shows uploaded files before the message is sent. |
| Remove button | Removes a pending attachment from the composer. |
| Workspace file button | Opens server-side workspace files when available. |
| Folder selector chip | Connects or reconnects a browser-local folder for file-agent workflows. |
When file controls are hidden
The paperclip is hidden when the agent’s Accept Files setting is disabled. Server workspace browsing is hidden for browser-workspace agents because those files live on the user’s machine instead of the server workspace.
