Files, attachments & workspace

Chat supports two file paths: normal uploaded attachments and workspace files. Some agents also support browser workspace folders, which let the composer mention local files with @.

What you can do here

  • Click the paperclip to upload one or more files.
  • Remove an attachment before sending.
  • Open the workspace file browser when the agent has server-side workspace enabled.
  • Attach or reconnect a browser folder when an agent uses browser workspace mode.
  • Mention local files with @ after the browser folder is connected.

Attachment behavior

ControlBehavior
PaperclipOpens the operating-system file picker and uploads selected files to the chat.
Attachment previewShows uploaded files before the message is sent.
Remove buttonRemoves a pending attachment from the composer.
Workspace file buttonOpens server-side workspace files when available.
Folder selector chipConnects or reconnects a browser-local folder for file-agent workflows.

When file controls are hidden

The paperclip is hidden when the agent’s Accept Files setting is disabled. Server workspace browsing is hidden for browser-workspace agents because those files live on the user’s machine instead of the server workspace.
