Voice recording
The microphone button in the Chat composer starts voice recording. The recording UI replaces the editor while you speak, then transcribes the audio into the composer.
What you can do here
- Click the microphone button to start recording.
- Cancel a recording before it is transcribed.
- Confirm a recording to transcribe it into the prompt.
- Edit the transcribed prompt before sending.
Controls

| Confirm | Sends the recording for transcription and places the transcript in the composer. |
Live voice
Some chat surfaces can swap the send button into a live voice button when the composer is empty and the parent page enables live voice. The main current Chat screen uses the visible microphone recording path.
